my fussy toddler is turning 2 in october. he has been fussy for past few months but recently got worse. he says NO to everything, impossible to get him to the bathtub, same for eating, along with getting dressed.

what are your tips to success to deal with this behavior?
i tried time out in the corner -he just cries
ignoring his behavior (doesnt work) he pulls out his toys and continues playing.

try some light punishments like no tv if he doesn't eat, no outdoor playing if he wouldn't go to bathtub and all that. relate punishments as if you are really serious giving him that options and try not to break what you just told him or he might think you are just bluffing around.

i agree with mercy, impose some light punishments that will let him think he is doing the wrong thing but not that harsh enough to make things worst.

Im reading a great book called discipline without shouting or spanking and it has tips on every sort of behavior and even what to say to the child.

He's a totally normal almost 2 year old, who sounds a bit overtired to me. Is he getting a plenty of exercise and rest?

Most of the times I just ignore his negative behaviour. By paying attention to negative behavior you will only strengthen it. 2 year olds seek any type of attention - even punishment or harsh words.

I experienced this phase as well... try bringing his toys with him to the bathtub and try teaching him how to wash himself, it keeps them interested. That way he'll love to go to his tub. It worked for my kid. Good luck.

Time outs never worked for me... I resorted to scaring my little one. that's the only thing that got him to follow me. I bought this really scary monster mask and it scares him a lot, so when I tell him to do something and he says no, I tell him that I'm going to get the scary mask, then he'll obediently follow...LOL
