I don't if everyone of you here knows about the electra complex. At first i was really bothered that my daughter likes being with her father and she becomes upset with me at times. So I did a little research and found about electra complex. It is a theory if Sigmund Freud who believed that electra complex is the girl's psychosexual competition with the mother for possession of the father.

oh yah! i've heard about that. and the opposite of which is the Oedipal complex... wherein the male child also tries to win his mom over his dad. But it generally disappears in age.

at pebbles2011 - there are actually some who are fixated with the electra and oedipal complex. You would know because the partners they will choose is very similar to their mother or father.
