i just had my baby started using a baby walker, but i was advise by my friend not to have my baby stay that long in a walker. i wonder why he said that...
any thought mommies?

yes dear! keeping babies too long on a walker will affect their learning skills, its basic really, they have to learn how to crawl before they can walk, more accurately is that they have to master to crawl before they can walk.

It is really unique in every child even if it follows the natural order of things. Using a walker does NOT teach your baby to walk. In fact, it can make the child lazy.. What you really need is monitor the child and provide support until your baby can finally walk without support.

imagine yourself being stuck in a walker for a long period of time. babies like small children have limited patience. i think it is torture to let your child stay in the walker for long periods of time.

why dont you ask your friend why he thinks it's a bad idea? this way we can debate on his reason.
