my nephew has developed a decay on his lower front tooth... his mom (my sister) wants it to be removed.. he is 5 years old... is it okay to just pluck it out? to my understanding, a milk tooth can fall out on it's own... at what age do they normally fall out??? anyone?

it does fall off by itself, but if your sister is somewhat OCD then visit a dentist, but thats painful for the kids and to our wallets. So let it fall by its own.

babies generally lose their milk teeth between the age of 6-7. although there are some who would probably lose it a year earlier... and mostly girls, lose their milk teeth earlier than the boys.

around 5 or 6 if im not mistaken and it's usually one of the four front teeth that goes off first!
