how do I prepare my 3 year old son for a new baby?
My husband and I are planning to have another baby (hopefully a girl this time!) since my first born is now 3 years old and we feel that it's a perfect gap. However, I am also apprehensive because I don't want my son to feel that he is less important once the new baby arrives.

They should be told about the coming of the new baby and that it is growing inside once you begin to show. This will help to get him involved in the whole process and ease the transition of having a sibling at home to share your attention.

You can explain to your son what his responsibilities are as an older brother. Highlight the joy and advantages of being an older brother. More importantly, you have to make your child feel that your love for him will never change.
