OK so yep I"m on my second child but my first day and night trained himself over a 2 week period when he was 23mths old so I've had as steep learning curve with DS2
Anyway he's 5 and has been day trained for a couple of years now but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with night times. I have tried to let him set his own pace but he still wakes up soaked in the morning. I have tried restricting drinks but he is always drinking water and it's easy access so unless I guard him he'll get it. I tried tha plastic sheet and putting him in undies/training pants. I also tried buying those night time nappies. I can't seem to stop him doing it.
I know everything I read says that some time between 4 and 7 they'll naturally night train but I really need to get this sorted before the middle of next year. Actually I'd like him to not be going to school and wetting at night.

Any tips for me please

I might not be too helpful as my child is only 2 and only daytime trained.. but I remember what my mum used to do for my brother.. :
*Last drink was a glass of water with dinner and NONE afterwards.
*Woke him up when she was going to bed to get him on the toilet
*used a alarm thing that goes off about 4mins before the bladder empties (this was on doctors advice though)

My brother has some sort of bladder control problems though.. he continued to wet the bed at night right through his teen years.. Wasn't every night, but was at least 4 nights a week..

Good Luck, maybe try a doctors opinion?

Summer, my son is 5 and still wears the night time nappies to bed. He fills them up and even sometimes leaks out!! I stop his drinks at 6pm but he still wets a lot!

Is your son a deep sleeper?? That is the issue we have, he just doesn't wake up all night long. I'm going to leave Lach for a while, maybe when he's 6 I might get someone to look at him. I have a niece who is 13 and she still needs to be woken up at night to go to the toilet otherwise she wets herself. My brother also wet the bed until into his teens so I'm thinking it could be 'in the genes' as such.
