We did it and had success. Who doesn't like a sweet treat for doing something good? |

We used M&M's and marshmallows too! We also used stickers which worked really well. We got an Elmo potty training book that came with a big sticker chart. I also got stickers of his favorite things and he loved putting them on the chart. The treats sort of rotated because he'd get a little bored of them after awhile. Then we'd use something new to keep encouraging him. Eventually the treats got fewer and fewer and he stopped asking for them. |

I think it's a great idea. We are finally potty trained and he doesn't expect a treat every time. We asked him one time what he wanted if he pooped on the potty. He told me donuts and then he said hot donuts. What's funny is he's really not a big donut eater. So, he finally did it and we went to Walmart. He got to pick out the donuts he wanted and we went home and heated them up. He thought he was big stuff. We only bought donuts two times and it's not been a problem since. |

I gave stickers and we worked up to a reward. with my daughter it was care bears. she would have to get 10 stickers and then we'd go get her a care bear, the little ones, as she was doing well it got to be more and more stickers. |

We didn't use treats instead we just did a ton of dancing. cheering, clapping and praise! That seemed to work w/our daughter, now a little over a month of being potty trained and we still give her a high five and praise her. For us, using the potty every 2hrs whether or not she needed to go was key. We also would take her 1st thing in the morning and after naps/before bed time. . . she hasn't had an accident since and she wakes up dry in the am too! |

For the longest time I said that I would never give candy as a treat and I used stickers and bubbles to reward her. That didn't last long! As soon as I turned to M&Ms for going pee-pee or poo-poo she was potty trained. I only give them to her now when she remembers to ask me for them, which is very rare. Yay to being potty trained. Good luck! |
