This thread is meant for kids before 6 years old, who are learning to write. Many parents send their kids to creative writing class, however if the child cannot even write in sentences, then the class will be useless.

I would like to share my experience about how to encourage kids to write from a young age :

Ohh please help me at least encourage my little sister to write!!! She doesn't even wanna hold her pencil! I always loose my patience.

Nicole, its such an easy thing, why not just tell her you'll give her a price after the writing lesson? just tell her you will buy her an ice cream or something that will make her Happy and do things. Ive been through that with my daughter and ppoooff! she's learning now! ?

it is good to tell her that if shes not going to learn how to write, her/his friends will bully her/him. just tell the kid it is important for them to learn how to write. just try to lead or assist her/him, as far as i know they only wants our attention. :)

why not just do something they want in return if they can write? just like what Glassfatty said, giving them a prize!

negotiate with toddlers. let them do something they like after they write or do their homework. toddlers still follow house rules.
