my daughter loves to color our wall. seems like we've repainted her room three times already! she told me she likes the wall coz it's big... :(

why don't you put up a big piece of paper on your wall and let her draw and color to her heart's content. I think she is just expressing her artistic ability.

Tameeka - December 10th, 2010 3:43 AM

dont you scold her when she does this? she recolors because she isnt reprimanded.

I used to have a son who wrote and drew on the walls too but after I scolded and punished him, he kept his artistic expressions on a sketch pad.

I like mommad's suggestion. but I also suggest a talk with your daughter. perhaps that's why she keeps on doing it because she does not understand that it is not good to draw and write on the wall.

maybe you can cover your walls with those kinds of paper that architects use to draw their plans in... they are pretty big. and then you can just tear them when she gets done and post a new one.

my dad used make us repaint the walls when we wrote on them...

Valerie - December 15th, 2010 4:23 AM

i think you have an artist in the family... :D

bethdavis - December 16th, 2010 3:42 AM

we've reprimanded her and punished her already. but i think she has this compulsion to color the wall instead of her paper!

emma_54 - December 19th, 2010 4:45 AM

let her color the wall and dont repaint then. she will learn to control her cumplsion if she runs out of wall!

i just hope she stays confined in her room and dont include other rooms in her cumpulsion! :(

kim444 - December 21st, 2010 3:47 AM

lol... if that does not work then you can always paint your walls black... oh dear! hahahah!

eviemccoy - December 25th, 2010 1:14 AM

black is really gloomy and depressing. perhaps you can leave her room looking like a graffitti wall and then just paint when she stops with her "phase".
