my daughter is having a hard time with maths? how do you think we should cope with this?

carrie - January 1st, 2011 4:45 AM

if you have time spend time tutoring her on this subject. if she sees how easy it is then she will have an easier time with maths.

i agree. some time spent with her while doing her homework will boost her confidence. with maths it is important to master the basics. if she does this then she wont have a hard time with the more advanced concepts.

i tutor my kids on whatever subject they find hard. for me it is important that they always have confidence in school and they know that they can count on me to help them with the difficult things.

make maths more fun. there are flash cards, fun math games and math books that can help you with this. make math more interesting so that they will be interested to learn too!

answer her assignment together in that way she can learn a lot and you will be able to spend time with her

their are helpful books that can help you teach your child in her or his math subject. if you want fun activity in answering her or his homework or teach her or him the subject, there are online games that can be more fun in learning math.

make math a fun subject do it with a little presentation like having real objects to substitute numbers

Unfortunately there are people who are naturally good at Math and there are those who aren't. What you could do is tutor your daughter. Either you do it or, if you're really that concerned, hire someone else if you can afford it.

You shouldn't be worried. It's normal for anyone to have a hard time with math or any other subject. Kids excel in different areas. What you should do is encourage and praise her for excelling in those other areas. Don't make it look like her "failure" in math is a big issue. Don't focus on her weakness in Math.
