A while back we started putting my daughter in underwear and she was getting up at night and going pee in the bathroom. She did this great for a while, but now she's back to having accidents every night. Should I put her back in pull ups? She doesn't want to wear them because she thinks they are not for big girls... Or should I keep encouraging her to get up if she needs to go potty.

by the way how old is she? if you think she's too young to learn peeing into the bathroom, it's ok to bring back pull-ups. if she's old enough, there is no need to, she will get by with it as time goes by just be sure you remind her that she should not pee on the bed.

Buy mattress pad and keep doing underwear. Make sure you let her go potty before bedtime. And also not too much liquid in the evening. My daughter had accidents in the beginning. But we continued with underwear, and had the waterproof mattress pad put in. After A while, she stopped having accidents. Good luck.

I notice there's usually a reason for accidents at night. Sometimes, it's due to change in bed time routine (going to bed earlier than usual, so they have longer time between last night pee and waking up), being overly tired so they're in too deep of sleep to wake up in late night/early morning, or being sick.

To have a successful night with less likelihood of accident we do the following:
1. No drinks after dinner except water (even that I try to limit)
2. Go potty right before going to bed
3. Take them potty again when I go to bed (usually about 2-3
hrs later). This is a pain to wake them up, but it's better than them waking up at 4 am with a wet bed. They usually do it half asleep and go back to sleep easily.

My son was dry at night for about a month and for past few nights he has had accidents too. Our problem is that he doesn't wake in the night if he has an accident, he won't even tell us he has peed the bed unless we ask and feel his underwear. He just sleeps so soundly he doesn't notice. We have begun wearing "bed protectors" as he calls them. Washable vinyl pants to wear over his underwear.

I wouldn't go back to pull ups!!

get the mattress pad, waterproof,if you haven't already and if you have it, turn it upside down so the plastic side is up, this way when she wets you don't have to keep washing it

I don't have anything brilliant to add other than "this too shall pass" as well. I'd keep with the undies, give her half a glass to drink at dinner, and maybe a small sip before bedtime, go potty right before she gets in bed and that's it. I think over time she will get it.
