Cerebral palsy is one of the most common congenital disorders of childhood. I've seen how difficult it is not just to individual itself but as to the family as well. Are there any safety measures that we can follow to avoid such congenital disorder?

Cerebral palsy can happen before, during or after birth.. but in most cases they occur before they are even born. As to the exact cause, it still known. However there are factors that are believed to be associated with CP. A few of which is any medical condition that the mother have, infection, seizure disorder and more.

It can also be related to the lack of oxygen, before, during or after birth. It is the reason it is important for a mom to know the proper breathing
technique especially when she is already about to give birth.

There are a lot of other disabilities that are associated with CP. Mental retardation, seizures, breathing problems, learning disabilities, bladder and bowel control problems, skeletal deformities, eating difficulties, dental problems, digestive problems, and hearing and vision problems are often linked to cerebral palsy.

Infants with cerebral palsy are usually slow to reach developmental milestones such as rolling over, sitting, crawling, and walking.
