This may be a groose post, but Last week I started my first period since I had my baby which was 6 weeks ago. When I got put on BC my doc said it would probaly be light and spotty. Man was she wrong. I know it's been awhile since I had a period, but this is crazy. It is sooo heavy and the cramps are killling me and to top it off all I want to do is sleep. My periods were never like this before. Do you think it will get better?

i think it will get better but i am just wondering why you had your period that early? in my case it took almost 15 weeks after giving birth.

menstruation after giving birth depends on and vary from woman to woman. some would have it as earlier as yours and some would have it like a 2 to 3 months.

It varies for everyone. I'm still nursing and my little one is just over a year old and I still haven't gotten my period...and no I'm not pregnant again...believe me I take a test every 2 months to make sure there's no suprises! LOL

I got mine right after i had him maybe like two months later. I bled for a while then got it not long after. It just depends. My friend didn't get hers til 6 months after delivery they had to give her a pill to make her start. And yes it will get better. Don't worry about it.

I had a c-section and I kept bleeding for about 3 months, so yes, it will definitely get better. After the third month, I already had normal periods.

I had the same experience with my baby was younger. It will get better after a couple of months or so. I think, that's just excess blood from having a baby. No need to worry about anything about it. Also for the cramps, you should ask your OBgyne what kind of meds she could prescribe to you to make it bareable.
