is it an international destination? i guess it's helpful when you bring something fun and educational like coloring books, jigzaw puzzles, rubix box. yes, it's true, a child usually gets bored for books so for some it's helpful but not in general. the thing is, you have to goal to get him tired and put him to sleep for the fun activities till you arrived in your destination. :D |

Do you nurse him? I always nursed my son during take offs to help with the ear pressure and also to keep him quiet, just request the seat closer to the window and seat next to a woman. |

My daughter likes those magnadoodles. Their boards you can write on with a plastic utensil they have tiny magnets inside and they erase. This helps for messes and keeps my daughter busy. But she is 2. I am not sure how interesting it would be for an 11 mo old but you could try it. |

Babys R us has a ball that is honeycomb like and I found it was handy on the plane...you cna hook it to you or the seat belt with those teething chains and that way if your baby throws it, it wont go all over the place. I found my 10 mon old, though nursing and flying around the time of his naps, wouldnt sleep on the plane...but luckily we've always sat infront of really nice women who would play peek a boo around the seat with him! It was wonderful and such a big help! |

Bring the toys that your baby loves and snack treats as well... Just don't give out the treats too soon. Also, you can nurse him while you're taking off, that can realy help with the air pressure. |
