has anyone of you here ever heard or read about determining a baby's need through his/her cry?? I think it's pretty amazing! can anyone share about it?

Hi Sonya!
I've heard of that too... What i can just remember is that when the cry is sharp and loud most likely the baby is in pain, when it's just loud and seems like irritable the baby could be hungry... when it's just like sobs then it could be associated wit diaper discomfort or is already sleepy... :)

there is one thing mommy has that daddies don't have, and thats instinct of a mother... so i guess who wrote that book must have a lot of kids, too much that she can put words on instincts.

It is really hard to determine how the baby feels especially that they can't verbalize their feelings yet. Non verbal cues are the only things that we can base their emotions or feelings from, and their cry is definitely one of 'em!

when an infant cries it is one of three things

1 hungry
2 wet
3 pick me up
