my 13 week old son has been my concern now at times that i am so much in doubt if he's showing some certain sings of autism. i ntoiced he seems to stretch his body and arms constantly whenver he sleeps and arches his back like it's not normal for me to look at. do you think he's normal amidst all those signs?

i see that your baby may have some of the early signs of autism, it is difficult to just have your own diagnosis it is better to consult it with your doctor in order to find out if your baby needs help.

that couldn't be an early sign for an autistic baby if your baby is otherwise developing and growing normally.

those some sort of symptoms where can be seen in infants with high muscle tone like if it's stiff is something that you may want to discuss it with a pedia.

you should know if possibly he can be autistic if at the age of six months old, he is not still smiling at all.

another sign is that if your son is not babbling. normally if he some sort of pointing things or making other gestures at the age of 12 months. well yes pretty alarming since it's a year over with that kind of development.

if the development has regression and the loss of language and social skills are not present or if you think it isn't developing at all...

you cannot tell it for now i guess but studies show that infants without autism usually avoid eye contact and as they grow older, they seems to ignore people coming around them.

MITCHIE - November 14th, 2010 7:08 AM

there is also a study showed that some children are having an abnormal brain growth with autism.

if you are much that concerned with your child's development, you should talk to the pediatrician and should consider the formal developmental evaluation.

some parents do think that autism is a gift and kids with it should be really gifted. they are those kids that are exceptionally smart or very artistic.

_alysse_ - November 14th, 2010 9:16 AM

but how about others saying that being autistic means your child has this special talent? my friend's son is autistic and he is very good in arts.

tina_renee - November 14th, 2010 9:19 AM

if just in case your child is autistic, then you should nurture him the best that you can give and guide him all the way.
