Summer Activities For Kids: Clothesline Theater
It's showtime! Create this charming clothesline theater and the kids will be sure to discover the thespian within them in no time.
What You'll Need
- 2 6-foot lengths of polypropylene clothesline
- several clothespins
- three old sheets
- paint
- a dozen 1 and 1/4-inch binder clips
Instructions
-
String up two parallel lengths of clothesline 6 feet apart.
Next, have the kids paint the scenery of their choice on a background sheet. You could also have kids create a scenery using old magazines and then glue it onto craft paper. Then use clothespins to attach the sheet to the line that is farthest from the audience.
In order to creat the curtains, suspend two sheets from the front clothesline by using 1 and 1/4 inch binder clips. Hang the clips at 1-foot intervals. The clothesline should go through the clips' triangular centers. This way, kids can slide the curtains open and close for a fun theatrical flourish!
