Back to School Recipes: Pinwheel Bites

Put the fun back into sandwiches with this healthy school recipe! This outside-the-box sandwich will soon be a staple on your back to school menu list.

What You'll Need

1 slice of whole wheat bread, with crusts removed
1 tablespoon of low-fat mayonnaise
3 slices of oven roasted turkey breast
1 slice of unprocessed cheese


Flatten bread using a drinking glass or rolling pin; spread with mayonnaise.

Top bread with turkey and cheese; roll up tightly. Cut crosswise in order to cut into four pinwheels.

Serve immediately or stack pinwheels on top of one another and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tip: Serve with a medium-sized fruit like a banana, yogurt with fresh berries and with milk or unsweetened fruit juice.
