Give Dad a Hand
This card is not only the perfect accompaniment to any Father’s Day gift, but can also make a fantastic Father’s Day present on its own. For this project, you’ll need the following craft supplies:
- An old pair of blue jeans
- Scissors
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Pencil
- Markers and other art supplies
1. Young kids may need help with this first step. Take your old jeans and cut out the back pocket. If you don’t have jeans, then use blue construction paper to cut out a paper pocket shaped like a jean pocket. Use a yellow marker to draw in the stitching on the paper pocket.
2. Put glue just along the edges of the pocket and press it firmly down onto a piece of construction paper.
3. Next, pick several sheets of different colored construction paper and trace your hand, being sure to keep your fingers together, and then cut them out.
4. Now write a special message for dad on each hand. If you’re planning on giving dad some chore coupons, the hands give the coupons a fun twist by letting you write down things that you’ll give dad a "hand" with.
5. Finally, put the hands inside the pocket and decorate the card. Don’t forget to write "Happy Father’s Day"!
