Stenciled Wrapping Paper
This holiday season it's not just what's on the inside that counts! Wrap your gifts in our beautiful, inexpensive stenciled wrapping paper.
What You'll Need
- paper
- pencil
- scissors
- tissue paper
- paint
- saucer
- sponge
- hole punch
- thread
Start with a small square of tissue paper. Fold it in half and draw on half of whatever design you desire (for example, a star or candle).
Using a pair of scissors, cut out your design, making sure not to leave any jagged edges or to cut into the sheet of tissue paper.
Spread a sheet of tissue paper out across your work surface. Pour some paint onto a saucer; dip sponge into paint so that it absorbs some of the paint. Place the stencil on some rough paper and practice before making your stencil onto your good paper.
Stencil on your design, making sure not to smudge the paint when you lift the stencil off the paper. Let dry. Make several sheets at a time, alternating color of tissue paper and stencil designs.
You can easily make matching gift tags using construction paper. Stencil on designs as above and let dry. Use a hole punch to make a hole for the thread to tie the tag onto the gift.
