Growing up, my niece never fails to cry almost 10 times in a day!

Today I was 'that' mum - the one with the uncontrollable toddler who people smile and while secretly thinking 'thank god that's not my kid!'. And of all the days it was when I was trying to get a family photo done  we didn't get any good shots :(

I have actually calmed down quite considerably now and he is in bed with only one imprint on his bum but I just wanted to say that when you see mums like that, after giving that sorry smile :) make sure you tell your kids how proud of them you are for behaving so well - it's so easy to forget to reward them when they are being so well mannered. This 1 scored a milkshake for his good behaviour!

Tantrums are a normal developmental stage and often occur as a reaction to strong emotions.

Tips to avoid Tantrums:

* Take the time to play and talk with your toddler regularly.
* Have clear rules and guidelines for your toddler.
* Treat your child with respect.
