my two year old daughter has terrible tantrums. how do I stop her before I lose my temper too?

KathyV - December 6th, 2010 4:12 AM

eventually she will get tired of the screaming! just dont pay attention to her and she will calm down. if you keep on soothing they just act up some more. ignore her when she throws a tantrum.

Ignoring her wont work all the time. So identify the cause of her tantrums and intercept it.

I like Felicity suggestion. If there are no tantrum triggers then there wont be a tantrum.

these tips are good. my kids are even tempered so i have not seen tantrums from them but you never know with kids!

if you're not in a public place then let her take off until she gets tired. most kids like the attention they get while throwing a tantrum.

ignore her. some kids like to do this to get more attention!

i let my kids cry it out. if you give them attention the tantrum gets worse.

if you cant get rid of the trigger for her tantrums then ignore her. ignoring them works quite well in my experience.

i ignore her from time to time but her screams are really loud and it is embarassing. her triggers are different and sometimes it is hard to identify them.

but thanks for your help. i am sometimes mortified by her behavior. hopefully she outgrows them soon.
