for discipline yes. but i rarely do this only if the other standard forms of discipline we implement does not work. I also spank if the crime warrants it.

no. there are other forms of punishment that does not involve spanking.

i think it is better for them to do chores or if you take away something they really liked. it is more effective than spanking. I wasnt spanked as a child.

I agree with emily_vain. However there is a thin line between abuse and discipline and parent's should remember never to cross it. Know your limits and your child's as well.
