my 2 year old likes to sleep with us every now and then. is this alright for her? i dont want her to become too dependent on us.

I think it is OK if it is only once in a while. I see no harm in this. But when she gets older she has to stay in her room.

Does she sleep there right from the start or gets up later? If she sleeps with you from the get to then tell her to go to her room. If she gets up in the middle of the night take her back to her room and stay there till she falls asleep.

I believe that kids and parents should have separate sleeping spaces.

I think you should break her out of this habit. It is much better for her to sleep on her own. Sleeping with parents should only be for special occasions or because of nightmares.

Sleeping together should only be because of "special" circumstances like nightmares. Otherwise, I believe that kids should sleep separately from their parents.

I think it is OK. Just make sure that you are all comfortable on the bed.

sleeping with you is OK... just make sure there are no hanky panky! ahahahah!

TWINKLE - December 12th, 2010 4:16 AM

if it is a sometimes thing then it should be fine but if she does this all the time then you better find out why so that you can avoid this.

patty - December 19th, 2010 10:16 AM

if it happens every night then i think you should break her out of this but if it not then i think it is OK but you should still explain to her that she needs to sleep in her own bed.

Tameeka - December 22nd, 2010 3:25 AM

she doesnt do this often. i just wonder if she is having nightmares or is uncomfortable in her room. i just want her to be comfortable in her own space.

kim444 - December 25th, 2010 1:18 AM

what is the reason for her wanting to sleep with you? if you eliminate the reason then she wont sleep with you anymore.
