do all teenagers go through the rebellion stage? it seems to me like my oldest nephew who is 14 is starting to rebel.

not all. perhaps he's just trying to break off the apron strings or just trying to find out his identity. teens go through an identity crisis too and perhaps he just wants to discover himself in the process.

loosen the leash a bit but keep a firm grip.

no. i remember my teenage years and I was a good girl. i think kids rebel when they are unable to express what they want. it is like a cry for help with them.

No. I certainly did not rebel against my parents and they were so strict.

I did not date till I was a senior and he drove me to and from school! My friends were allowed to hang in the house but only the girls. The boys were only allowed in the back garden. LOL!

I understand that they were strict because they were protective. I think if both parties were to understand each other then rebellion and other things would not occur in the home.

I did... for a while. My parents were going through a divorce and it was a tough time for me. So I hung out with the bullies and the mean kids. But after a while I realized that bieng bad was not the answer to my problem.
