my son is already 8 and i'm having a hard time making him gain weight... he is just too skinny.. i dewormed and nothing came out... he has a pretty good appepite and i let him take multivitamins... HE IS STILL SKINNY... can you recommend any vitamins or perhaps food that can help him develop a better build?

what i noticed with school aged children is that most of them ate really skinny even with a complete meal or with vitamins.. it's also the time when they ate most active. It's probably why their metabolism rate is also high. Is your son active with sports or any clubs at school? don't worry too much but just make sure he isn't underweight.

it's also the time when their height increases. That might also be the reason why they look skinny. In preparation for adolescent stage.

What did his pediatrician say? It's hard to make diagnosis on the internet. There might be a reason why he is skinny. A doctor's visit should tell you what's wrong.

As long as he is within the ideal weight for his age and height then I see no problem in being skinny. Being skinny can also be hereditary. For example me and my brothers were like sticks growing up.
