every summer i notice that while my sun spends most of his time playing outside under the sun, he comes home and tiny red rashes would also appear.. i assume that it's just prickly heat and would eventually go away.. what home measures can be done for prickly heat?

keep the rashes clean and apply baby powder. this should take care of the itch and the redness.

If you dont have baby powder try corn starch. this will dry up the area fast and get rid of the prickly heat.

This is normal especially if he is always sweaty. I think this is a reaction to the sweat and the heat causing the rashes. The powder and cornstarch are very good remedies against prickly heat.

btw, if you notice that your kid is sweaty all the time make sure to change his t-shirt. Prickly heat can be caused by the bacteria that can live in sweaty and damp places.
