how do i help my child get straight A's? he is a diligent student but he still falls to a B minus... i dnt understand why... he gets really sad...

Are you also pushing your child to get A's? Sometimes when they get so pressured, they might end up not getting anything at all. Make him feel that you are there to support and love him no matter what. Getting an A is just like a bonus. If it is really his want then the most you can do is monitor his studies. Maybe he is studying but he is using the wrong materials. Check what areas he needs assistance most.

I don't want to scare you or what kim but you might want to have your child be evaluated by a professional.

I had the same dilemma with my kid and when I had him evaluated, we found out that he is dyslexic. He can't get the words right. We had to provide additional help.

why is having straight A important? perhaps there is also something wrong with the way he studies?

why not tutor him. and let him know that its ok not to get straight A's as long as he really works hard that's what's important.
