I bring my child to the mall twice a month just to let him enjoy being out of the house every once in as while. However, we usually take most of our time in the toys department. it takes a while for me to choose the right kind of toy for my little boy because I have to consider the safety and quality of the toy. If I get lazy I let him pick up the toys he wants to buy.

Yes, I let him choose his own toys. I also agree that we should consider toys that are safe for the child, if there are toys that he chooses and are not that safe to play I let him understand the possible danger it might cause him and pick two other toys as options for him to choose to substitute the not so safe toy.

i do let my son choose whatever toys he wants but would also see to it that it is an appropriate type of toys he can have in his age. i always look at the quality of a toy in which i should be sure it's non-toxic.

sort of... but sometimes they become overly excited and would pick those that are not really useful for them and that they actually don't like but just want it so bad just for their envious eyes.

I sometimes let my son choose his toy, because I think he would feel rewarded If I let hime choose. Although, it's not all the time that I do agree with everything his picks up on the rack. I just explain to him why he can't have it, and he'll just forget about it.

It's different for me, I usually just buy him safe but cheap toys everytime I get a chance to do so. All of my son's toys don't last more than a day, he just breaks them all, and it all goes to the trash. Maybe when he's a bit older (he's 2 now) I'll let him choose his own toys.
