my sister and her husband are going through a divorce. my twin nephews are 7 years old. I notice that their school work is suffering. What can I do for them?

Just reasure them that it's not their fault. My parents divorced when I was young too. And our mom was always repeating that to us and I guess it was comforting even though we were so confused!

If your sister is too caught up with her problems then you can be there to guide your nephews. You can help them with school work and listen to them if they are feeling down.

they are going through a tough time and the low grades can be a manifestation of their worry and confusion. you should comfort them whenever you can and show support.

you can help them with their school work if you have time so that they wont fall behind. support and understanding is really important during these stressful times.

my parents are divorced and it was a difficult time for us. kids are usually confused and think that the divorce is thier fault.

Marie, you can guide them during this diffucult time especially if their mom is unfocused because of her problems. You can help them just by being there and helping them with school.

i am sad for your nephews. you should provide them support and care now that they are probably feeling confused by the whole thing.

i hope the boys are ok. you can help ease their pain a bit by being a good supportive aunt.

i am sad for your families. divorce can be distressing more so for the kids. i hope you hang in there with them!

BTW, maybe you can ask your sister for your nephews to stay over your place once in a while. this way they will be away from pressure and stress and just be kids for the night!

they need your support, love and understanding now! I hope you can take some time out to take care of this!
