It never hurts to take supplements but if you follow a healthy diet then iron deficiency is nothing to worry about. On the average we lose about two tablespoons to half a cup of blood when we menstruate. So it's very minimal. |

there are actually different types of causes for anemia.. excessive or abnormal blood loss like heavy menstrual flow is one of them... pregnant women are also at risk..taking vitamins or supplements are fine but your doctor would need to find out what's causin it to provide proper measure.. |

EAt foods rich in iron like meat and eggs. It is also prudent to take supplements if you need it. there are multi-vitamin varieties that give you iron and other vitamins and minerals as well. |
