Oral conditions occur frequently in people with developmental disabilities. Crowding of teeth and a poor fit between the upper and lower teeth are just a few examples of those oral conditions. Teeth that are crowded or out of alignment are more difficult to keep clean, contributing to periodontal disease and dental caries.
It is really best to have these children seen by their dentists.
