is it true that mumps can cause sterility to young boys?

it's a 50-50 thing. if the testicles get inflamed then he might have future problems with infertility.

it CAN cause sterility but it's not neceasarily true to all. It is very important especially for young boys to avoid getting mumps to avoid infertility issues.. we do get vaccinated for that as well.

From Netdoctor:

"Mumps will only affect fertility if it causes orchitis and, even then, only rarely."
