I never knew that diarrhea could be deadly, especially to kids! how can we tell if the child is already dehydrated??

a sudden loss of energy, like very long hours of slepping, lips crackle and watery stool. trust your instinct and go to the doctor if in doubt.

death caused by diarrhea can easily be prevented if there is just proper information dissemination. depending on the age of the child there are different signs that you can watch out for.
for babies, they have sunken fontanels and/or eyeballs, very weak or can be lethargic... for kids in general they would exhibit excessive thirst, they are cold and again very weak, and a lot more... monitor the child closely...

if your kid has diarrhea and is feverish then this is a sign of dehydration. to avoid this make sure your child is drinking lots of water and liquids and getting lots of rest. if he or she has the above symptoms and is vomiting then better go to the ER stat.
