I have a ten year old step son who cannot read. I work all the time so I'm not the primary parent at home. He is in special classes at school due to his reading. They don't send home homework and when I have wrote a letter asking for help with a tutor etc I received no help. He does have adhd and his maternal aunt is dyslexic ( unsure of sepllinng). His father uses his disease as an excuse. More or less due to it its ok for him not to be reading. I need help. I want him to be up to par with his classmates. He has been held back once and is still behind all his classmates. But neither him nor hi s father seem to care. I have a 7 month old who he tries to teach things too and maybe I'm being ridiculous here since she is so young but I always catch him teachin his baby sister wrong things and it kinda drives me nuts. He is very immature as well. The way he acts most people thinks he is a tall 7 year old. I just need advice on how to help him so he can help her right I guess.

Hi there, Im no expert on this matter, first your being ridiculous your baby is 7 month old worst thing that could happen is that she wont love her big brother once she grows up. Tell you what you can teach your son a thing or two and ask him to teach it to his baby sister. That's hitting two birds.
