...how can one tell that your child is vitamin a deficient? are there any common signs that we have to look for?

poor night vision, dry skin, weak bones and teeth and poor body resistance to infection are a few things that you would see for vitamin A deficiency...

is this a common issue with kids? is there some food that is rich with Vitamin A.

poor eyesight is quite common also dry skin. Vit A deficiency is common in developing countries.

You need to watch out for signs of poor vision especially at night. Brittle hair and nails. Dry chapped lips and dry skin. If your child has these symptoms then it is likely that he or she is deficient in Vit A.

I just checked and our cereal and the milk brand we use is fortified with Vitamin A. So make sure your foods are fortified too!
