When someone gives me money for a gift I automatically think that the person did not take the time or effort to look for a gift. It's sad. I personally look for gifts for my family and friends and it's off putting that they can't or won't give me the same courtesy. It's rude, really. |

It's tacky to give someone money for gifts. It may be OK in some cultures but in the States this is a sign of bad manners. |

it's like giving jewelry in a baby shower, its not appropriate. I don't agree with donald though. for my 5th birthday i got a cash bond. ;p it's not "tacky" at all its just not appropriate for the party. |
