is there such a thing? some friends wanted to put out an announcement in our town's local paper for a baby shower they threw.

Check with your local paper if they carry announcements like this. In small towns it is usually just a simple paper with news but shower announcements are not unheard of.

Facebook it! Why pay when there is free and effective means.Nobody has time to pick up the paper and look at classifieds anymore. But Facebook, oh, everyone goes there. It is easier to catch the attention of people on Facebook.

But yeh I agree with Ginger. Baby shower announcements are not undheard of.
