Valentine's Day Crafts: Valentine's Day Beaded Hearts

These adorable beaded hearts are perfect for your special Valentine. What's more, this Valentine's Day craft is one of those Valentine's Day gift ideas that the whole family can take part in.

What You'll Need

In order to make one beaded heart, you will need the following supplies:

  • 12-inch red or white chenille stems
  • colorful translucent tri-beads (also known as propellor beads) (alternatively, you may use non-translucent beads)
  • wire cutters (a strong pair of scissors can also be used)
  • keychain (optional)
  • craft lace (optional)

Instructions

Cut the chenille stem in half. Save the other half of the stem for another beaded heart.

Bend one end of the chenille stem so that it forms an "L" shape (the "L" should be about one-and-a-half inches). This will make it easier to string the beads on later.

Thread beads onto chenille stem, leaving approximately one-and-a-half inch of the stem left showing.

Next, bend the other end of the stem in order to form a second "L" shape.

Twist the two "L" shapes together. Clip off any excess wire. Be careful to bend in any sharp edges to prevent injury.

Bend the chenille stem so that you have a heart shape.

Add to a ribbon for a necklace, a key ring for a backpack, or attach to a Valentine.
