Orange and Ginger Glazed Ham

This glaze is good on butt or shank portion ham, half ham and bone-in spiral sliced ham. For the glaze, you will need:

  • ¾ cup marmalade, orange
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2tbsp orange juice
  • 2tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2tsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup ginger ale
  • 1tbsp cornstarch

1. Cook ham according to package directions.

2. While ham is cooking, mix the marmalade, ginger and mustard together in a bowl. Set aside.

3. When the ham has only 30 minutes left to cook, remove it from the oven and brush the above mixture over it.

4. Into the bottom of the roasting pan, pour the ginger ale and ¼ cup of orange juice.

5. Turn oven temperature to 425°F and place ham back in the oven.

6. Baste the ham every 10 minutes with the pan juices.

7. After 30 minutes, take ham out of the oven and allow it to sit, loosely covered, out of the pan for 15 minutes.

8. Meanwhile, combine the remaining pan juices with the brown sugar and let it simmer.

9. In a separate bowl, mix 2tbsp of orange juice with the cornstarch until they are thoroughly blended. Add this mixture to the simmering juices and stir until it thickens slightly (about one to two minutes).

10. Just before you serve your ham slices, drizzle them with the sauce.
