Baked Ham with Whiskey Glaze

For a bold taste, try this delicious whiskey glaze; it's perfect for a semi-boneless ham. For this glaze, you will need:

  • ¾ cup bourbon whiskey
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed firmly
  • 1tbsp dry mustard
  • Whole cloves

1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

2. In a shallow roasting pan, place ham on rack with the fat side up. Bake for two hours.

3. When you can easily pierce the ham with a fork, take the ham out of the oven and cut off the rind.

4. Score the ham in a diamond pattern. Make sure you cut through the fat to the meat. Turn oven up to 425°F.

5. Using a ½ cup of whiskey, brush the ham on all sides.

6. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining whiskey with the brown sugar and mustard. Pat the mixture into the scored fat. Place the cloves at the scoring intersections. Baste the ham with the pan drippings before returning it to the oven.

7. Bake ham for another 15 to 20 minutes. The sugar should be melted to form a glaze.
