Baby’s First Birthday Party
There are a lot of family expectations surrounding the 1st birthday party, but many an experienced mother and father will tell you that the best first birthdays are small family gatherings. One-year-olds don’t really understand the whole birthday party thing and most of them could do without the crowd of children who want to play with their toys. In fact, many one-year-olds have napped through their own party!
Professional teachers and other child experts are quick to say that birthday parties shouldn’t begin in earnest until a child reaches the age of three and understands that his or her birthday is a special day that deserves a special event. Even at age three, birthday parties should be kept small.
As a rule of thumb, you should limit the number of child guests to the age of the birthday boy or girl. This is a good rule to follow until your child starts school.
