what is a good criteria for a special needs school. also do you have any idea how much the average tuition costs?

LovelyRuth - December 14th, 2010 3:23 AM

special needs school needs to be certified and have good reputation. their staff has to be qualified to meet the needs of different kids with different handicaps.

i have no idea how much average tuition costs though.

no idea how much the tuition is but there is assistance available for parents and children who qualify under the law. check your local state institutions like social welfare for info on this.

aside from state funding i think there are also parent assisted schools that have lower tuition costs. i think there are schools like these that cost the same as private school.

for me it should be affordable. i know how hard it is to have a special child as one of my kids has mild dyslexia.

no idea too but arent there state sponsored ones that are cheaper compared to private ones?

if tuition is hard on the budget there are special needs teachers that can go by session. perhaps you can find one in the classified ads.

qualified and highly trained staff. they also need experience in their field.

BTW in California, there is a law that kids with special needs can claim support from the gov't. The state gives somewhere between $400-800 per child depending on the need.

i think it depends from teacher to teacher. you can look in the classified for a teacher that can give you a good price.

if private school costs between $10-15 thousand per year then expect that number to at least double for special needs school.
