does anybody here have relatives as their caregivers? how much do you pay them?

cheaper than a professional caregiver. for my dad we take turns taking care of him until we decide to get him to a nursing home. we just make sure that we visit.

you mean a sister or aunt who watches your kids or act as a nanny for you?

yes. my younger sister. she's still in highschool and is forever needing money for stuff. this way she earns her own spending money and i get reliable help for my kids. I pay her $10 per hour but she watches and cooks for my two kids. So it's cheaper really than hiring a professional baby sitter.

I dont have a relative caregiver but if someone did offer then I would gladly pay them. It would be better to leave your kids with someone you trusted and knew you rather than with strangers.

MY MIL wanted paying to watch the kids. I am a stay at home husband but I also work from home. Even though I am at home my MIL steps in time to time to watch the kids. And we pay her something like $10/hr! But it's OK though since we are able to leave the kids with someone we trust and I can concentrate on my work when needed.

I drop my kids to the daycare instead of hiring a relative to do this. In my experience relatives, granparents especially tend to spoil the kids and dont discipline them. I find that the daycare center is better as they are certified professionals.
