how do you deal with a jobless partner who stays at home depressed?

I was out of a job too for a while thanks to the recession. It was depressing but the thought of my family growing hungry always drove me to job hunting.

Since your man is out of a job he is feeling pretty helpless and has probably low self esteem right now. So do what yo can to encourage and inspire him. Remind him of his family so that he will be inspired to look for a job.

oh no... jobless husbands are quite easily depressed because they are supposed to be the bread winner. So my suggestion for you is to give him stuff to do that will boost his ego. Like organizing the garage or having a fixing project at home. Of course remind him to scour the classifieds every now and then.

Kick his arse. Seriously. What kind of a man is he not doing anything but lie on the couch all day. What is he doing anyway, play with his d*ck?

If you treat him like it is ok to be lounging in the patio while you are working your butt off in a recession period you are not helping him. You are only making it worse. That is bad for you, your family and your relatioship.

Oh girls, when I said kick his arse, it is up to you to interpret it. Literally or as a matter of speech, but I suggest the former.
