Yes. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (or JRA) is the most common type of arthritis in children under the age of 16. Pauciarticular, a type of JRA is said to be most common in children under 8 years of age.

Yes. In fact it is quite common. It usually begins with a swollen knuckle or rash. The cause for this is still unknown but some doctors say that this is an autoimmune disease.
