I come from a lineage of vertically challenge genes and because of this I was very insecure when I was in college when everyone was bigger than me and I look like a 7th grader. No problem of finishing college though since I found confidence in my other skills. Im just afraid that my kid will have the same insecurities.

Being tall is not everything. There are other things that matter. You said yourself that you developed other skills. So maybe your kid can do the same and gain confidence too.

at one point they may get frustrated with it but you can help them develop their self confidence by highlighting their strong points.. I'm sure it would not affect them greatly if they can establish the thought that they are beautiful in their own way.

Self-confidence is the key. If you exude confidence and sureness in your manner of talk and behavior then you have nothing to worry about. Height is not all there is to life.

BTW, Napoleon Bonaparte was around 5ft tall and that did not stop him from trying to conquer Europe! :) So chin up!
