Sugar is said to trigger hyperactivity. But this is not the only thing you get from consuming sugar. Kids can also become obese and cause intestinal problems.

I agree. This is why sugar intake is limited in my house. Sure I let them have cookies and juice but I control their intake. It's my right and responsibility to do so.

with milk the less carbohydrates the better. this is because carbs get transformed into sugar upon digestion. so choose milk that has less carbohydrates.

you should have seen my son eat the icing off 10 cupcakes while i was not looking. it took forever for him to calm down! never again!

But if your child is very active, is it OK to give them some sugar? I mean the normal sugars that you would find in a normal meal.

If the kid is active i think it is better to give him carbohydrates or protein rather than sugar. with carbs and protein there are other benefits like muscular growth.
