up to what age do you give your babies infant formula. what age is regular milk ok to drink?

itsmejoan - December 15th, 2010 4:29 AM

i bought infant formula until around 2 years old. then i guess you need to check with the pediatrician if it is OK to give them regular milk.

we have infant formula for up to two years. after this regular full cream milk is OK.

the doctor told me to stop at 36 months and then switch to full cream milk.

i think it depends from child to child. i ask advice first before I give regular milk.

i think it is OK to give them whole milk after 1 year old. i gave them iron fortified whole milk at this age.

i think it depends from baby to baby. one of my kids was able to drink whole milk at around 18 months but another baby of mine was on formula till around 24 months.

i think its ok to give after a year old. this is the age i started to wean my kids on infant formula which i id gradually.

i mix regular milk and their formula to make the transition easier. i usually do this around 16 months. at around 2 they have regular milk already.

i forgot to state that my kids were breastfed and also drink formula at around 2-3 months. this is because i have no more maternity leave after this period. to make sure that they dont go hungry i pump and then have formula (which is doctor prescribed) on hand.
