I know that if babies have diarrhea you have to keep them hydrated until their normal digestive rhythm returns to normal. But isn't there something you could do to ease the discomfort?

When my babies were teething they would experience some diarrhea. I would usually just give them water to keep them hydrated. This is the natural way of dealing with this illness. I dont think there's a baby medicine for this.

Infants are usually given oral rehydration solution. I also hear good things about gripe water. this is usually given for colic but also works for diarrhea.

You can ask your pedia about this but water or a rehydration solution usually works. When diarrhea appears to be severe don't take chances. Bring the baby to a hospital immediately.

How old is your baby by the way?

Try the BRAT diet as someone once suggested I think in this forums. I can't find it though.

@Ginger Why are you double posting? You could have continued your post into one. =P
